What Happened In February 2019?

Whew!!!...Is anybody else HAPPY that February is over? And correction please if you feel necessary but was this 2019 BLACK HISTORY MONTH the most EXHAUSTING EVER???

Between the UGLY celebrity stories (NO NAMES MENTIONED), the UGLY designer stories coupled with the UGLY ones that are there all the time it seemed like February lasted 128 days. 

All we can say is 2019 BLACK HISTORY month brought out the UGLY in a whole bunch of people and the ones who made sure the stories went public the (MEDIA), well they must have to drink a WHOLE LOT OF BROWN LIQUOR IN ORDER TO SLEEP AT NIGHT!

We’ve been so inundated with all the other horror stories that we haven’t had time to focus on the other nightmare.  Yes, SWITCH REELS!! And let’s get the MEDIA involved in finding out who ABDUCTED “THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS”!!! and replaced them with 

“THE LOS ANGELES LOSERS” 

What is really going on!  The LAKERS are our team, but we have to admit it, they SUCK right now!!

People keep saying that LA must accept that it’s a new day, that there is no more “SHOW TIME, or SHAQ & KOBE” but these constant NO SHOWS are unacceptable!

The tendency is to blame and FIRE the coach but come on people! Luke isn’t out there on the court and who are we kidding, he’s a nice guy but he wasn’t that great of a player when he was on the court and who wouldn’t the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS have made look great!

Maybe Luke has to go but don’t say it’s because of his inability to coach, he didn’t claim to be a great coach! FOLKS just assumed he was GREAT because the WARRIORS WERE ALREADY GREAT WHEN HE FILLED IN!

We’ll tell you who you can blame, it’s that lawyer guy and forgive us for not using his name but everyone knows who we’re talking about.  It’s that guy whose bright idea it was to plaster bill boards with Labron James’ name all over the City, practically begging this guy to come to LA and here’s a MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION for ya?

Didn’t anybody think it was a good idea to check to see if MR. JAMES could “SHOOT FREE THROWS???

Did somebody ask if bringing LABRON to LA was a good move???

We’ll tell ya, HECK NO!!!

Why was this lawyer guy listened to? We don’t know this guy and we now know that he didn’t know what he was talking about EVER! In fact, he owes us an apology!

Somebody please, reach out to this DUDE and tell him to spend the same amount of money plastering up bill boards APOLOGIZING to the CITY OF LA for encouraging this NONESENSE!!

Magic is our guy and we are so happy he’s in the front office but please “LET JEANIE make some of these decisions”!

We know that this is a male dominated profession but honestly people, admit it!

IF MEN WOULD ONLY LISTEN, PITFALLS AVOIDED DUHHH!

There is a very good reason woman were created to compliment men.

Who doesn’t know that the man can pick out the suit, but the woman is the one who recommends that SLAMMIN TIE! Or men might like the smell of a certain cologne, but the woman is the one who tells him when he’s splashed on WAYYYYY TOO MUCH! You get where we’re going with this right? Some of those players we got rid of, we should have kept them and if JEANNIE was asked, and had her opinion been taken seriously DOG GONE IT! We wouldn’t be in the twisted position of having to WATCH the playoffs instead of PARTICIPATING another duhhh!

We know, TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE right? but here’s the lesson learned, never be too proud to listen and concede that’s when we grow.

We’ll definitely be watching the play offs at the PF Chang in, well, we’re not saying which one because the seats at the bar fill up fast, but we will say this,

The bar tender “Al Borland” you know the guy from the 90’s show “Home Improvement” he’s the bartender and he makes a MEAN TOKYO TEA!

Ya’ll come on over there, you’ll recognize us we’ll be wearing “T” shirts the say,

“COME BACK LAKERS”

“Too Busy For MY Health!?”

8AM: Get the kids ready for school and get ME ready for work!

12PM: Quick Lunch!

5PM: Pick up the kids grab dinner...

10PM: Bed!

And that’s your day. Sometimes it feels like whether you have kids or not, whether you are married or single, you’re always busy! It wouldn’t be fair to say, “Well since Sara isn’t married, she has way more time on her hands” and it’s certainly not fair to say, “Tony & Kathy don’t have any kids they have all the time in the world”. The only thing I’m sure we can all agree on is, there’s a lot to do and not enough time in a day to get it done!

But! It’s so crucial that we make time to check on our health. Ask yourself, when is the last time I went to the doctor’s office for a physical or a checkup, oh yeah two years ago when you were sick with the flu!

Been awhile huh?

Please don’t consider me to be a hypocrite hey, the only reason this piece is being written is because I just went to the doctor! It’s tough I get it! “Can’t miss work, can’t afford it, I’m guilty, is this you? “I keep missing my appointment & I don’t bother to reschedule” all of the above right?

Well, hopefully by the end of this talk you’ll have some motivation for considering why it’s so important to have REGULAR DOCTOR VISITS & ANNUAL CHECK UPS! There are a million reasons why but let’s focus on 3 Important ones:

1) KEEPS YOU AHEAD OF YOUR HEALTH

• Depending on your test results they may warn you and /or give you advice on how to better maintain your health to prevent serious illness in the long run.

Remember prevention is better than needing a cure. Regular check-ups will also give your doctor a better opportunity to spot any potential health problems.

Better Safe Than Sorry Right?

    2) BECAUSE THE STATISTIC ARE TRUE!

• There are hundreds of statistics out there that many of us (myself included) just ignore because maybe we don’t want the stats to apply to us well, they do! Here’s a few example statistics:

~Women leading cause of death: Heart disease, Cancer, Stoke

~Men leading cause of death: Heart disease, Cancer, Accidents (Ok, that last one! WHAT!? L.O.L)

~Children leading cause of death: Cancer

In most of these cases the person was “SEEMINGLY” in good health.

     3) YOU CAN’T CONTROL IT IF YOU DON’T KNOW IS THERE!

This one saddens me and it’s personal, I experienced this first hand. Some one very close to my family “seemed” to be just fine he didn’t complain about anything. From the first day I met him, 2 months later he was dead. He had a brain tumor. Some of these conditions are silently developing in our bodies, they don’t give us outward signals then BOOM!!! It’s too late!

Sorry for the WORD GRAPHIC but this is REAL STUFF and it behooves ALL of us to PAY ATTENTION!!!! 

Phew, that’s was enough for me!  We aren’t trying to depress any one, we just want to bring awareness and remind folks how important it is to have REGULAR CHECK UPS!

Of course, there are things we can do in the meantime to REMAIN somewhat healthy like, Eating right, Drinking plenty of Water, and please people you and please remind our little ones that

WE MUST WASH OUR HANDS A LOT, ESPECIALLY BEFORE A MEAL!

We can’t emphasize enough that it’s of the utmost importance that WE make time for the MORE important things like our health!

“BLACKFACE' SWEATER”

Let’s face it, who doesn’t or who hasn’t wanted something that has that world recognized GUCCI monogram on it?  Folks with plenty of money who can afford all their stuff, working folks who treat themselves once a year with at least one item of their merchandise and those of us who know we can’t afford it, but we make some kind of a sacrifice to get our hands on a small piece from one of the BIGGEST designers in the world!

That said it’s understandable that the First look at their newest known creation of the “BLACKFACE' SWEATER” may seem like nothing to some, but to a lot of people especially people of color it brought up emotions that a tremendous amount of time is spent on trying to believe that you don’t have to revisit.  Certainly not over an UGLY SWEATER, feelings that start with, but absolutely don’t end with

“OFFENDED, DISRESPECTED, APPALLED, DISBELIEF, BETRAYED, LET DOWN, DISAPPOINTING & DOWN RIGHT ANGRY!!!

Many of us wanted to take the items we’ve purchased from these folks and throw them in the trash! Then, reality set in and you remembered how much money was spent on them so that’s a NO!!!!!

So, you ask yourself, have these people at GUCCI along with the designers that proceeded them in their blatant display of racism, have they been given a secret pass to disrespect and degrade people of color?  And if this is the case, why weren’t they also given a secret devise that sounds an alarm telling them NOT to take the “GREEN MONEY” from these people since they are so bent on making a mockery of any race? Why accept any MONEY from people who clearly are not respected by their organization?

After all, they are GUCCI an iconic, powerful, influential designer looked up to and envied by millions who doesn’t need the money of, or the support of these people they clearly don’t think have any impact on the promotion of their products RIGHT???

Is their intent really to offend much of the population that makes them who they are???? They got lots of reviews, from people from all walks of life, expressing their hurt feelings over such an outward display of insensitivity clearly, to make money at the expense of an entire race of people.  REALLY!!! It’s sad that we are just 11 days into the 28 day, “Black History Month” and we have a top actor Liam Neesom publicly allow the effects of hatred to spew from his lips THEN, we have GUCCI displaying the same hatred visually by creating what may very well be the DOG GONE, UGLIEST SWEATER in the history of SWEATERS!

What a month! And its not even over yet!

APOLOGY of course we get one!  In fact, some of the same people in the GUCCI camp that approved this UGLY design probably went back to the round table and encourage public apologies for making such an insensitive design. After all, not only have they read the reviews they feel the effects of their actions because the reviews and the consensus is screaming at them.  Of course, they realize, that there are so many that showed their non-support for the sale of this UGLY SWEATER and probably any other GUCCI products, huh, wouldn’t you apologize? They said do it, SWIFTLY because the law of gravity works FASTER when money is FALLING!!

Should we accept their apology? First reaction, HECK NO!  Really GUCCI? making the sweater was a truly DUMB move but are they serious, do they not know that we’re not so dumb that we don’t know that if they don’t apologize, not only will they NOT sell that UGLY SWEATER, but there aren’t enough people working for the GUCCI organization to wear ALL the items bearing their name across the world!!!

Can they spell BANKRUPTCY…. Over an UGLY SWEATER???

SMOKE CLEARS although this was an absolutely, crazy move, we must remember that many eyes saw this design before it hit the public. Somebody came up with it but more importantly SOMEBODY approved it and gave the go ahead for it to be mass produced SO, it’s a definite that there are some people high up the ranks in this organization that should be looking for new jobs!  

More importantly though, we must remember that the designers of this UGLY garment are simply HUMANS and their making such an UGLY GESTURE only exposed their imperfection.  Mistakes are made by everyone who puts their pants on one leg at a time and it’s to our advantage to view them as such.  

There has been enough time spent on realizing the negative about this and did we say this was an UGLY SWEATER??...We say, we’ve given GUCCI enough of our time trying to figure out why?  

After all, there’s only one word that describes RACISM no matter what color you are, no matter what language you speak.  GUCCI knows what it is, their sweater bears it, it’s just

UGLY!!!!!!!!
